BARON DE NAVARRO, RIBERA DEL DUERO, CRIANZA 2016
The 2016 Baron De Navarro, Ribera del Duero, Crianza is from the Ribera del Duero region. The region is one of the most internationally recognised wine-growing areas of Spain. This wine has been produced by the Navarro López family, who consistently make fantastic Crianzas. DO Ribera del Duero is characterised by low precipitations, dry summers and long cold winters. The soil is covered in layers of limey and clay sands, and the vines are between 750 to 900 meters above sea level. All this is what gives the Ribera del Duero, Crianza wines their excellent taste profile. Grapes for the Crianza are 100% Tempranillo, and the wine is aged 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Serve 16-18°C—cellar potential of 3 to 5 years.
FINCA LA PICA DO RIOJA CRIANZA 2017
The 2017 Finca La Pica DO Rioja is an excellent example of a classic Rioja from Spain, an absolute joy to drink and a bottle you would be proud to have on any dining table. The Rioja region is situated in the North of Spain, at both banks of the Ebro river. Cooler winters and hot summer temperatures, and limited rainfall mark the character of the vines that grow on a mixture of sand, silt and clay soils, which is what gives the Rioja wines their excellent taste profile. Grapes for the Crianza are 100% Tempranillo, and the wine is aged 12 months in American oak barrels. Serve 16-18°C—cellar potential of 3 to 5 years.
TESOURO SEGREDO ALBARIÑO DO RÍAS BAIXAS 2019
A superb Albariño from Spain. Specifically, Galicia, these vines are grown in a small area in the North-West of Spain and are very differently exposed to Northern Spanish conditions. Arbours made from vines are the usual way of developing the grapes, which forces a manual harvest to collect them. All these unique characteristics of Rías Baixas drew the attention of Navarro López family, and that is how the Tesouro Segredo was born. Serve 8-11°C. Cellar potential of 2 to 3 years.
DIVINO ORO DO CAVA
This delightfully crisp Divina Oro is what all Spanish Cava is about, produced under the strict Cava Control Board supervision. The Divina Oro Cava is created using the traditional champenoise method, the bottle fermentation process for Champagnes. The Cava process starts using selected yeast, under strict temperature control, to make the most of each grape variety’s aroma, each of which is vinified separately. Grape variety are 90% Macabeo and 10% Parellada. Serve 8-10°C. Cellar potential of 2 to 3 years.
DIEZ-CABALLERO CRIANZA 2018
Diez-Caballero Crianza 2018 is an award winning 100% Tempranillo grape wine from Rioja, Spain. The 2018 Crianza is also a short-run production, with only 70,000 bottles produced of this fantastic wine. The 2018 Crianza feels young and tender, a little creamy after a very recent bottling but with the stuffing and balance to come into its own with a little more time in the bottle. A definite keeper! It’s a clean Crianza that combines classical texture with more modern characteristics. The wine has been matured in French and American oak barrels for 15 months and was bottled in September 2020. Serve 12-14°C—cellar potential of 2 to 3 years.
LIRUM VERDEJO DO RUEDA
A stunning wine, Lirum Verdejo is the flagship brand of Navarro López in Rueda, Spain. This region’s wine is one of the most famous wines in the whole of Spain. Its freshness and fruit aromas, and flavours are its distinctive notes. Denomination of this origin Rueda growing area is at 700 to 800 meters above sea level on high flatlands. Winters are cold and long, and summers are hot and dry, only disturbed by occasional storms, perfect for building the flavour of the Verdejo grapes. The soil is brown, rich in calcium and magnesium, easy to till and stony. Serve 8-10°C. Cellar potential of 2 to 3 years.
