Colin Barollet vineyards in France, date back to 1879. The domaine is known from producing wines of elegance, finesse, and balance. This Colin Barollet, Brouilly is a 2019 vintage, 100% Gamay the appellation stretches around Mont Brouilly in Beaujolais and covers 6 communes (Cercié, Saint-Lager, Charentay, Odenas, Saint-Étienne-la-Varenne and Quincié). This is the largest and most southerly of the 10 Crus of Beaujolais.

Soil Four soil types make up this land: to the West a pink soil on a granite base / to the East, a darker gravelly soil on a rock less acidic / to the South, a clay-limestone and siliceous soil / in certain places the soil is full of weathered rock fragments. All these soils are poor, acidic and infertile.

Traditional vinification in thermos-regulated stainless steel vats on a 3 weeks period: Cold pre-fermentation maceration around 8 °C. Pigeages and pumping over to extract colour and structure. Fermentation with a peak temperature around 30 °C. Post fermentation maceration at 25 °C. Ageing between 8 to 16 months with malolactic fermentation to gain roundness.

Appearance Deep red in colour. Nose The nose is composed by floral aromas of peony and violet. Palate The palate is generous, nicely fruity and offers a a great length. Service 14-15°C Temperature. Keeping potential Drink within 2 years. Excellent on grilled red meats or with sauce, terrines and pâtés. Cheeses with strong flavours such as Livarot, Maroilles, Epoisses,  but also hard cheeses such as Beaufort.
